2016 Pinot Noir, Edna Valley Estate

(12% whole clusters and 25% new French oak) Limpid ruby-red. Fresh red berry, cherry, succulent herbs and a hint of rose oil on the pungent nose. Bitter cherry, raspberry, and floral pastille flavors unfold slowly while picking up allspice and licorice accents. Shows good depth and gentle grip on a sweet, clinging finish that features smooth tannins and a touvh of the cola.

2016 Pinot Noir, Edna Valley Estate

Though the nose on this bottling is somewhat restrained, the aromas that do show are quite deep and dark, with boysenberry, alpine strawberry, purple flowers and cola. There is a nice pop to the acid-driven sip, where tart pomegranate and black-raspberry flavors meet with wet slate and a grippy texture.
