2016 Pinot Gris, Spanish Springs Vineyard

(made entirely with whole clusters and all stainless steel) Light bright yellow. Ripe pear, Meyer lemon, chamomile and a hint of leesiness on the perfumed nose. Chewy and nicely concentrated, offering pear nectar, lemon pith and smoky mineral flavors that pick up a gingery nuance with aeration. Lingers with very good tenacity on the finish, leaving lively floral and orchard fruit notes behind.

(all stainless steel) Bright green-tinged straw. Lively citrus and orchard fruit aromas show good energy and dusty mineral and floral nuances. Silky and focused on the palate, offering nervy lemon pith and honeysuckle flavors and a suggestion of bitter quinine. In a taut, lively style, delivering firm closing bite and repeating florality.

2016 Pinot Gris, Spanish Springs Vineyard

Broad aromas of Asian pear, kaffir lime and wet stone show on the nose of this bottling from a vineyard located just minutes from the sands of Pismo Beach. There is a great sizzle of acidity on the sip, with candied apple flavors, slightly sour lime and grapefruit peels. There’s also the slightest touch of sweetness.

2016 Albariño, Spanish Springs Vineyard

There is an impressively persistent stony quality to the nose and palate of this bottling. On the nose, that takes the form of a rainy cement note, which, along with lime-skin and pith scents, give fresh tension to the broad peach and pear aromas. On the palate, it’s all about grippy texture, which holds up green apple, underrripe pluot and lime-wedge flavors.
